Shukra (Venus) is the planet that represents relationships, love, arts, entertainment, enjoyments, pleasures of life, etc. Shukra rules the signs Vrishabha (Taurus) where Chandra is exalted and Thula (Libra) where Shani is exalted. Shukra gets exalted in the sign of Pisces representing unconditional unadulterated love and gets debilitated in the mercurial sign of Virgo.
By transit Shukra is debilitated currently so it is important for all of us to do some remedies for Shukra.
Shukra is a powerful graha and owns the secrets of the Mrtunjaya mantra.
The sign Pisces is connected to Lord Vishnu as Sri Ranganathar where he is seen sleeping on the serpent bed of Adishesha. Since Shukra gets exalted in the sign of Pisces the worship of Sri Ranganathar is a miraclous remedy to heal malefic effects of Shukra.
The reclining position of Lord Sri Ranganathar in the milky ocean shows the exaltation of Shukra in Meena Rashi (Pisces). Lord Sri Ranganathar’s janma Nakshatra is Revati nakshatra where Shukra is exalted.
Sri Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya has sung a beautiful hymn in praise of Lord Sri Ranganathar known as Ranganathar Ashtakam.
Just by reading this Ranganathar Ashtakam on Friday evenings is a powerful way to remedy Shukra. You can also listen to this beautiful composition – Ranganatha Ashtakam (रङ्गनाथाष्टकम्) with lyrics and meaning – YouTube
You can also donate to the Sri Ranganathar temple on a friday, if you are in close proximity a visit to this temple and performing the Shukra dosha puja there is highly recommended. You can also chant the mantra “Aum Sri Ranganathaya Namah” 108 times everyday in the evening.
