Mokshada Ekadashi is observed on the 11th waxing lunar day in the Vedic month of Margashirsha. The day is devoted to worship of Lord Vishnu and emphasizes the virtue of giving or charity.

The Birth Day of Bhagavad Gita

One of the unique aspect of Mokshada Ekadashi is the Gita Jayanti – the celebration of the birth of the Bhagavad Gita. It is believed that the Bhagavad Gita was revealed by Lord Krishna to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra on this day, making it a doubly auspicious occasion.

This year marks the 5160th Anniversary of the sacred Bhagavad Gita.
