Magha Amavasya also known as Mauni Amavasya is a special day in the Vedic calendar that falls during the month of Magha. It’s a day when the moon is completely invisible in the sky, symbolizing a time of darkness and new beginnings. “Mauni” means silence, and on this day, people practice silence as a form of tapasya. The idea is that by being silent, we can reflect inwardly, cleanse our minds, and prepare for a fresh start.

You can cook their favorite meal, offer it to them and eat it/distribute as a Prasad. You can also gather as a family and talk about them, recount stories about them.
